This series of works embodies different characters and events that have had a significant imprint on Ty’s path through life. Each individual piece represents a different emotional and energetic experience.
As an abstract expressionistic painter, she embodies the emotions of each human or story she wishes to portray, and, quite literally, dances the paint onto canvas. The artist feels moving with the paint in a dance helps to strengthen the portrayal of energy and emotion.
The idea behind this series of works birthed from her latest commissions where she was propositioned to paint abstract expressionistic portraits of people. This process required her to delve into the psyche of her subjects and represent their minds on canvas.
This series ‘Imprint’ is slightly different as most of her subjects are unaware that she has embodied specific snippets of their energy and persona and turned it into paint and canvas.
