Artist Statement

Kerrie Ann Bolton’s work extends beyond depictions of her own, and close family members images, into an intimate exploration of the lives and faces of those around her. Through the interplay of light and dark, she strives to capture not just a likeness, but also the emotions, thoughts and sense of identity that lie beneath the surface.

Artist Bio

Kerrie Ann Bolton is an oil painter and musician, based in Melbourne, Naarm. As a child, she enjoyed exploring the visual arts but eventually chose to pursue a career in music, graduating Melbourne University Conservatorium (BMusPerf, BEd) and Victorian College of the Arts (MMusPerf). In 2019, with no formal art education, she began taking portraiture painting classes with Hilmi Baskurt at Seven Easels Art Studio. This is her third group showing.
