Opening Night

Friday 3 March | 6pm – 8pm

Inspired by the Japanese art form of pressing flowers (Oshibana), comes this new abstract floral series by Natalie Briney. The complexity of these paintings is in the modern integration of various textures and techniques, giving new life to this ancient art form.

Artist Bio

Mixed Media Artist Natalie Briney is best known for exploring the fusion of bright colours and unique textures.

Born in Perth, Natalie has travelled extensively and lived everywhere from the Pilbara in Western Australia to Bendigo in Victoria. In 2014, Natalie moved with her family to Margaret River, where she now calls home.

Early in her career, Natalie identified strongly with  Contemporary Artists such as Gustav Klimt and his love for colour and texture. As Natalie developed her skills, her paintings became less figurative and leaned more into the abstract.

Her current works capture the spirit of the ancient Japanese art ‘Oshibana’ drawing inspiration from the native flora and fauna that surrounds her home studio.
