Artist Bio
Christina Cerqueria Bio
Intuitively Inspired Artist. Archeologist of Creativity. Guider of the Mislaid Feminine.
Christina has been practicing art her whole life. As she ages, she is learning about herself and to embrace who she is; woman, mother, artist, human.
Art to Christina means freedom. Art to Christina means passion. Art to Christina means life.
Christina’s art is a reflection of her values. It is about helping women grow, evolve and understand that it is ok to be who they are, in whatever form that looks like.
Dawn Rienets Bio
Mother, expat, writer and working artist, Dawn is an observer, making sense of the world through art. Communicating both deep personal and political issues, aesthetic beauty and expressionism, Dawn’s work has so far defied a niche but its common themes are motherhood, feminism, birth, death and rebirth.
Dawn’s goal is to tell stories with creativity. She has a Masters in Humanities with a concentration in Gender Studies and Literature from the State University of New York at Buffalo and a Bachelors in English. If she finished a couple art history classes, she would also have a BA in Studio Art but remains a firm believer that if you make art, you’re an artist, and no one needs to pay academia for the title.
Vice President of Thou Art Mum, a group of Nillumbik/ Banyule-based artists who are also Mothers, Dawn is also a member of MAVA (Melbourne and Victorian Artists) and has been exhibiting in Melbourne for the past four years.
