Hiroko Hongyok
Opening Night
Friday 20 January | 6pm – 8pm
◼︎
Hiroko's curiosity for transitional spaces is often manifested in the tension between revealing and concealing, expansion and contraction. Through the language of familiar, yet unrecognizable forms, she attempts to create an abstract space that recognizes the interdependence of all things - celebrating the emptiness in fullness and fullness in emptiness. Aware of art’s lineage in experiencing the metaphysical, she seeks to cultivate a practice that serves as an expanding space for contemplation.
After graduating from the Victorian College of the Fine Arts in Melbourne, Hiroko has exhibited at leading art galleries in Thailand such as River City Bangkok, 333 Gallery and Thailand Creative and Design Center (TCDC). Hiroko is currently based in Bangkok, Thailand.
