Artist Statement

A multi -media visual artist exhibiting regularly in independent, commercial and community galleries over the past 30 years. Loriente works in various mediums printmaking painting sculpture and collage. Blending my many practices within her work. In recent works moving toward more sustainable practices incorporating recycled and re-purposed objects and materials into her work. Her work is an exploration of personal and cultural identity through connections to place, memories and exploration of emotions. capturing unique idiosyncrasies of people, creatures, objects and landscapes. Drawing Inspiration from the world around he and the exploration of the dual influences of her Mediterranean heritage and my life  in Australian . Creating a visual melding of aspects these cultural influences evident in the use of rich colour, texture, strong lines and choice of subject matter.  The fragmentation of form often evident in her work and use of collage assemblage and melding of mediums and material stems from a child hood having her image reassembled with all manner of materials within an outline of my form and early mosaic work. Learning at a young age the capacity for art to engage inspire and process emotions.
