Her greenery in Castlemaine is the subject and inspiration for Elizabeth Nelson‘s observational gouache and watercolour exhibition, Edge of the Garden. Painted en plein air, each single sheet of paper forms a component of the larger whole, capturing the early summer light cast over the garden and its dream-like morning langour.

The everyday world of the domestic garden – when experienced up close – can appear as a theatre of the strange.
