Amelia Lackmann
Amelia Lackmann’s recent paintings investigate abstraction through variances in line, shape and color and through the formation of specific relationships between these components.
Lackmann’s ideas are centered on dimensions of space, inspired by architectural design elements which act as a platform to create works.
The smooth, precision-like surface quality in these works echo the planning, design and construction of the world around us and can be read as a metaphor for a re-invented sense of place.
Amelia Lackman graduated with a Fine Arts degree at the Royal Melbourne Institute of Technology in 2008. Since graduating, Lackman has shown in group exhibitions at NGV Studio, Rtist Melbourne, Pigment, Carbon Black and Kinross House. This is her second solo show at Red Gallery.
