The longevity of Monroe’s cultural impact is arguably due to the underlying complexity and fragility hidden underneath the seemingly simple facade she presented to the world.

The beauty is that once you begin to view her in this light, you can see each depiction of her from this dualistic perspective and see multifaceted emotional, psychological, and philosophical interpretations of her as an individual and her image.

The artworks in this exhibition aim to explore and tease out these underlying nuanced emotions that lay hidden or disguised underneath the persona of Monroe, to reveal the lost soul hidden in Monroe, her image, and within all of us.
