Nita Marguerite Savage, based in Thornbury, is an oil painter who creates evocative, experimental pieces that capture the fleeting moments of life. With an unyielding passion for the medium, Savage's work is a timeless exploration of the intersection between memories and the way time passes. Her paintings, often inspired by snapshots in her personal collection, invite viewers to contemplate the intricacies of human experience and the ephemeral nature of our existence. Drawing on the tradition of oil painting, Savage's artistic practice is rooted in the significance of the "Kodak Moment" and its ability to encapsulate a singular, emotional instance. Through her work, she endeavour’s to create a powerful, contemplative dialogue between the viewer, the artist, and the ever-changing nature of the world.
Artist Bio
Nita is a Melbourne based emerging artist who after completing a bachelor’s degree of Psychological Science, turned her focus to oil painting. Combining the two, Nita’s concepts surround that of everyday lives and the experiences, memories and emotions that come along with it. Nita sets out to engage the audience through intimate stories hidden within each artwork, offering insight into someone else’s life.
