Urban Paper explores the potential of paste up street posters to create repurposed and sustainable pieces of artwork. Using only discarded street posters or donated discarded posters from various stakeholders, Tsekouras deconstructs and repurposes them through a variety of collaging, embellishing, drawing and painting techniques. The collection was inspired by the overwhelming presence of posters throughout Wurundjeri land, in particular the areas of the City of Yarra.

Upon viewing these posters and seeing that they had such a short life span, Tsekouras knew there was something else that could be further utilised. These posters are traditionally glued together and layered several times. The artist uncovers these various layers and showcases the different colours beneath the surface using them in communicating a visual experience. This is the result of a range of cutting, peeling and gluing techniques which play on the already existing colours.
