Min Ray’s work is informed by the traditions of early to mid-century movements and styles such as Bauhaus, Colour Field, Op Art and Minimalism. Knowledge of these traditions has equipped her with more abstract lenses through which to view the world, whereby objects, landscapes, emotions and thoughts transfer into lines, shapes, forms and colours. 

Artist Bio

Min Ray is an emerging artist based in a beautiful country town near Ballarat. Min graduated with a Diploma of Visual Arts from Melbourne Polytechnic and the Northern College of Art and Technology in 2020. Her application and dedication to her craft earned her both an Outstanding Achievement Award and Excellence Award from Melbourne Polytechnic in 2019 and the Abstract Art category winner award in the 2022 Art Lovers Australia Art Prize.
Through her signature painting style, hard-edged geometric abstraction, Min creates emotive artworks employing bold colours, geometric shapes, architectural forms, and structured patterns to give voice to her unique experience and creative vision.
