Louise Wilcox has chosen to entitle her body of work, "Hidden Figures," an exhibition that delves into the theme of self-discovery and the journey towards mental wellness. The pieces on display invite the viewer to explore the depths of their psyche and embrace the hidden aspects of themselves.

This exhibition represents the culmination of the artist's journey of self-discovery, which commenced during a difficult period in her life marked by the birth of her second child, leading to postnatal depression.

Throughout this personal journey, Louise discovered the potency of the mind and the incredible power of thought. She recognized the significance of having the right support system and how one can transcend any situation with the proper mindset and mental healing.

The artwork showcased in "Hidden Figures" constitutes a collection of distinct pieces, each characterized by unique compositions, colours, and intricate layers that mirror the inner workings of the soul. The use of pigmented resin on a reflective surface of a gold acrylic mirror creates a mesmerizing effect, evoking thoughts about the remarkable influence of our minds and drawing parallels with quantum theory. It prompts viewers to ponder whether their reality would cease to exist if they closed their eyes, emphasizing that we can shape and manifest our own lives.

Louise hopes that these pieces will encourage viewers to delve deep into their psyche and embrace the hidden aspects of themselves.

The "Hidden Figures" exhibition invites viewers to contemplate their journey of self-discovery and the importance of mental wellness. It encourages them to explore their inner child, creative alter ego, fearless warrior, or lover, uncovering hidden aspects of themselves that can be harnessed to overcome any obstacle.

Louise aspires that this exhibition will inspire viewers to embrace all aspects of themselves and serve as a reminder that storms will pass and they possess the power to push through adversity. As they walk through the exhibition, Louise hopes that viewers will be inspired to embrace their true selves and discover their own strength and resilience.
