Lisa Nolan

A Year At Dunmoochin

20 May – 6 June 2015

Completed during the first year of a residency at Dunmoochin, Lisa Nolan’s latest body of work demonstrate a quiet observation of nature and everyday life.

“I love working with the face and figure, drawing and painting the body in all shapes and sizes,” she says.”Landscape studies give balance, as they offer me an opportunity to work quickly with an ever-changing subject, but also love the chance to spend time working on a static subject under a controlled situation, such as still life.”

Nolan’s extensive professional career includes 18 years working as an illustrator, court artist and designer for News Corporation, as well as Fairfax, the ABC and the Seven Network. She has taught portrait workshops at the Light Factory Gallery in Eltham, and teaches painting and drawing around Melbourne, predominantly in Ivanhoe, Kensington and Preston. She has exhibited widely across Melbourne in solo and group shows, and has works displayed in private collections both in Australia and overseas.
