Franky Howell’s latest works explore an ongoing interest in the dynamic tension between form, pattern and colour. The junction of divergent planes, physically distort both the painted and constructed angles. Abstract patterns fold into each other, creating an interplay of flat painting and  three-dimensional assemblage creating an energetic state of form.

Franky Howell studied a Bachelor of Fine Art, Leicester Polytechnic, England in 1982 and more recently completed a Diploma in Illustration NMIT, 2008. Howell spent many years travelling around Europe and India painting drawing much of this time from life. He is now committed to the exploration of Flashe (acrylic )paint, geometric pattern and three dimensional forms in wood. Howell has been regularly exhibiting in group shows in Melbourne since 2007. He has been a finalist in several prestigious prize shows, including Redland Art award and Banyule Works n Paper. This will be his second solo show.
