Painting for me is playing with colour, form and texture.

It is recording, escaping, experimenting, transforming and being transformed.

It is also beginning alone, free, and stopping time, and sometimes making a mess!

My paintings are a reflection and expression of my life experiences, preoccupations and influencers.

There is a political element in many of my paintings and simply playfulness in others.

my landscapes and figurative paintings are influenced by the colours and shapes of Central Otago N.Z. where I was born, and they are also reflected in the Australian bush and textures, where I live now, and of course, there are always unconscious influences in one work.
