9 March – 26 March 2011: Libby Letcher – Desiring Machines

Gallery 2

Libby Letcher’s work explores human drives, motivations and dreams, drawing on an interest in the human condition and philosophy. Philosophers Gilles Deleuze and Felix Guattari described a universe composed of desiring-machines, all of which are connected to one another: “There are no desiring-machines that exist outside the social machines that they form on a large scale; and no social machines without the desiring machines that inhabit them on a small scale.” Libby has exhibited regularly in Australia for over a decade.

This is her third exhibition at Red Gallery.
