12 October – 29 October: Cathy Muhling – Elusive Dissolution

Cathy Muhling’s Elusive Dissolution exhibition unites subtly powerful small and larger paintings, aglow with pared-back hues and amorphous shapes. Soft translucent glazes and dark tones create immersive and vibrational colours. The works ponder human emotion and memory’s evanescence, using abstracted landscape as a metaphor for the psyche. Washes of rubbed-back glazes, barely there, do suggest an inner presence, but with a muted melancholy that is as liminal as it is elusive.
