5 – 22 November 2014: Mettle – NMIT Graduate Jewellery Exhibition

NMIT_METTLE_1

Mettle highlights the vast range and inventiveness of work the 2014 Graduate Jewellery students of NMIT have produced this year.

Mettle is the ability of a person to cope well with challenges, a true display of one’s spirit, resilience and tenacity. The word ‘mettle’ also derives from a traditional Shakespearean spelling of metal.

Throughout two years of technical and conceptual inquiry, the students have bent, heated, soldered, fused and forged metals into wondrous objects of adornment and display. The show presents a bold selection of work and is testament to the graduates’ resolve.

Featuring: Gemma Grace, Antonia Field, Jessica Gilbert, Michal Klimek, Rebecca Koster, Philip Monk, Jan-Maree Oliveira, Shea Pinxt, Jane Reilly, Emily Jayne Schilg, Marcelle Thomas, Ann Welton, Robyn Wilson, Lisa Lubbock, Christine Amery, Bianca Browne, Ash Whitchurch, Danielle Horseman, Mehrnoosh Ganji, Nao Hirata, Melrose Hee Joung Oh, Joanna Jungwon Hyun, Mel Jeffery, Nicole Lawrence, Sisi Liu, Pierina Sannia-Carbone, Benjamin Stiekema, Mimu Tabushi, Mary Turner, Callie Whelan and Yokie Yatagai.
