What hides below, in the dark, under the bed?
Ange Leech invites the viewer into an environment of distorted scale that plays on childhood fears, inhabited with ‘cuddly’ creatures, their faces inspired by configurations of the human anatomy.
“The work is a play on confronting inner human fears in a lighthearted comical manner, however suggesting darker undertones. I use humor within the work to create a sense of play, also to make the work more approachable on many different levels.”
Opening night will feature a live performance element.
Ange Leach is a Melbourne based artist with a degree in sculpture from RMIT University.
